Extremely unique menu - all perfectly curated and flavorful. Love. Love. Love. The sour cream and onion infused vodka cocktail was one of the coolest I’ve ever tried. Risky, but truly enjoyable. Ally was such a sweet server who made our experience extra pleasant and cozy! She made sure we felt educated on our selections and the cocktail/wine list too. Intimate seating, yet big city feels. Will definitely return.

Chappy hour at Chapmans over at German Village. Food, service and ambiance are all excellent. Come in early for their (C)happy hour to get the burger! See my pics for recommended fare for your visit. Reservations a must. Ample street parking. Update 11/25/24: Went for their Dim sum tasting menu. Really very good and faithful to the Cantonese original. Hopefully they have some of them in their regular menu. See added pics for more. Update 12/13/24: Went for THE FINAL BOSS - Whole-Fried Branzino. 20 ounces of deep fried goodness!

Holy Moly! It really tracks how popular this restaurant is, because it was an outstanding experience. Stunning interior, superior vibes, and incredible cocktails. Gonna have to grant Chapman’s my “Best Old Fashioned in Columbus” trophy. I’ve been holding onto that one for a while! The waitress brought out several little surprises like the tiramisu and cucumber starter. Insane. Will return.

Came here for my birthday dinner, and ended up being very glad chose it for the occasion. The atmosphere is easily one of the best in Columbus, the food was unique and delicious, and our server, Sean, was kind and gave great recommendations. Also, the maple custard dessert was one of the best I have ever had!

From the moment you enter Chapman’s in German Village, you are surrounded by charming decor and a quaint ambience. We sat in the Green Room, and Scout took great care of us. We tried several cocktails and mocktails. Favorites were the Pink Yoshi (as a mocktail), and the one with pretzel-infused scotch, forget the name. So unique and well balanced. The food — opted for the 2 staples for starters. General Tso Cauliflower and the Beef Fat fries with chappie sauce. We progressed to the Ricotta Gnocchi and the Miso roasted Flounder which stole the show. To finish, we had the maple budino and the sticky apple cake. To say we were satisfied would be an understatement. Well done BJ and staff!!!!! Thank you!

I am sorting an original posting from 3 years ago, having gone back twice. I think Chapmans is good, it’s certainly working hard and there is plenty to celebrate. Columbus is fortunate to have standard setters for contemporary cuisine such as. I think it’s in Columbus top 10, you can probably decide how high on that list or not. We’d recently visited for a low country southern tasting menus which was tasty and creative. Some things to celebrate quickly and notably - the shrimp and grit dish was the best I’ve had and I’ve been visiting New Orleans for decades. Outstanding! The nailed the tempt and texture, the cream and heartiness, the smoke and warmth and touch of sweet. The tomato and mayo dish with accompaniments, was feeling absurd at worst and tasting fresh, simple, and full of zingy fun fusions. Other dishes were great too. Some were okay, that’s perfectly fine. I think Chapmans does very good and sometimes good! That’s my take and I think their ambience and buzz, decor and presentation is pretty darn good. Perhaps it’s a touch stiff, but it does not present that way at all. I think a dash of love beyond duty here, something authentic, communal and maybe less polarized would help. But each brand has its brand. I’d come back. Enjoy!
